The objectives of the 1:1 Mobile Tablet project, as identified by Alberta Education at the inception of the project, were to:
- support teachers and students in gaining facility with using mobile tablets for the enhancement of educational instruction and social interaction.
- investigate the potential educational benefits, in particular with regards to literacy and numeracy, of one-to-one mobile tablet learning
- identify strategies that work, with regards to iPads in inclusive classrooms, at the universal, specialized and targeted levels of support

A pluralistic approach using both qualitative and quantitative methods was used to evaluate the progress and outcomes of the 1:1 Mobile Tablet Project.

Data will be collected from teachers, administrators, and students using a variety of measures such as:
  • surveys
  • interviews
  • focus groups
  • classroom observations
  • classroom artifacts
